LedsC4 approaches the evolution of its digital platform in a context of growth, catalogue complexity and international expansion. The project focuses on building a solid foundation capable of structuring large volumes of product data, connecting efficiently with core data systems and delivering a clear, coherent experience. Beyond a visual update, this is about redefining how content, catalogue and system coexist within a digital environment designed to scale.
The Challenge
LedsC4 needed to evolve its digital presence to address a dual objective: on one hand, improving navigation and access to its catalogue; on the other, strengthening its positioning as a leading brand in lighting solutions.
The starting point was a platform with a high content load and structural complexity, where product access, understanding of solutions and system scalability were becoming a challenge.
The project required not only a visual improvement, but a deep revision of the architecture, navigation and the way content and product coexist within the digital environment.
An additional key challenge was the implementation of a fully custom design system, with a high level of detail in interactions, components and responsive behaviour, requiring a precise translation into frontend to ensure consistency and quality across all devices.
The Approach
The project was approached from a structural perspective: first understanding how information was organised and how different user types interacted with the platform.
Work focused on:
– Redefining the information architecture
– Simplifying navigation flows
– Structuring and prioritising content and catalogue
– Creating a flexible and scalable component system
All with a clear objective: making product access easier without losing the brand’s narrative capacity.
In parallel, frontend development was treated as a strategic layer of the project, not just an implementation phase. The design system was translated into a reusable, optimised and coherent component system, ensuring visual consistency, performance and scalability.
Additionally, a full integration with the client’s PIM was defined from the outset as the core data layer. This ensured that the entire catalogue (including products, categories, collections, projects, variants, attributes, documentation and images) was governed from a single source of truth and automatically synchronised with the platform.
The Solution
A digital platform was developed that balances catalogue and content, enabling clearer, faster and more goal-oriented navigation.
The system is based on:
– A modular architecture built on reusable components
– A navigation system optimised for large product volumes
– Clearer, structured product pages designed for usability and conversion
– A solid foundation for future growth and evolution
At the frontend level, a component-based system was implemented, aligned with the Hyvä Theme foundation and the defined design, ensuring a consistent experience across the entire site while enabling new functionalities to scale without compromising visual coherence or performance.
From a data perspective, the platform is built on a full PIM integration acting as the master catalogue repository. This allows tens of thousands of references, along with their variants and attributes, to be managed centrally, automating data updates while leaving the platform focused on content and complementary management.
Results
The new platform enables LEDS C4 to:
– Improve accessibility and understanding of the catalogue
– Reduce friction in navigation
– Strengthen its digital positioning
– Rely on a technological foundation ready to scale
Additionally, the PIM integration ensures consistency and continuous data updates across the entire digital ecosystem, while the component-based frontend system allows the platform to evolve in an agile and controlled way.
More clarity, less friction and a real foundation for growth.
